Using Deer Lures

I’m a beginner at hunting deer. I’m hunting with a crossbow on public hunting grounds in the mornings and evenings. I’ve seen three does so far, they almost ran me over. I haven’t seen a lot of tracks or rubs. I realize the rut is over. I’m just getting frustrated with not seeing anything. What is your opinion on lures? Do they work and if so, which ones should I buy? Do you have any other hints or tips? Thank you and God bless, Keith (Ohio)

I don’t use lures much when I hunt. I typically try to slip into an area totally undetected by deer. However, I use lures extensively when I trap coyotes and they can be used effectively for attracting deer. Stay warm during the late season hunting in Ohio!
