Question
I shot a buck with my bow tnk it was a gut shot waited 4 hours found where it bedded down lots of blood trailed it until it crossed a slew that was flooded. would a deer drown with holes in his body on both sided. I found my arrow it passed all the way thru the deer. He had to swim probably 75 yards or so

Phillip Vance,

You did the right thing waiting to pursue the deer knowing the shot was back. Hits back like this can take many hours for a deer to expire.

A deer wouldn’t have drown due to the two holes in the body cavity. The deer would still be visibly floating in the slough if it had swam the open water and not made it across.

I hope that you are able to recover the buck soon!
