Are these acorns? They r huge. What species? Thx and Merry Christmas!

Yes – the acorn caps and leaves are from a swamp chestnut oak.  They do produce very large acorns and deer love them!  For more information checkout:  http://plants.usda.gov/factsheet/pdf/fs_qumi.pdf
